Loving Yourself Where You Are In This Moment

Loving yourself where you are in this moment

It's a new year where anything is possible!

A new year has this fresh excitement to it, but at the same time, it can feel so overwhelming, full of pressure to show up perfectly, and to do things differently.

I've been seeing articles all over the place, telling me what I should be doing or how to do this or that. It can get really overwhelming; you can end up feeling even more lost, more unfocused, and it can actually prevent you from even moving forward into the new year right from the get-go.

I love the freshness the start of a new year brings, and yet I can feel the pressure to do things differently, to show up differently. A new start can come with its own expectations.

I have a tendency to over-plan, with all these new habits to form, what I want to change, what I want to add, and what I want to take away.

This year's been a little different though. I established a really healthy (yet simple) routine in the fall, took a little bit of a break over the holidays and now I'm back getting back into my routine. It may not be perfect but I'm showing up where I'm am, making progress and I don't feel so overwhelmed.

The thing is, we can overthink, we can over-plan, and we can get lost in the excitement of a new year, with lots of new goals and new resolutions.

But it's not about being perfect; it's about showing up and taking small steps forward. They don't have to be massive; you don't have to climb a huge mountain or jump out of an airplane.

Take small steps to get to know yourself better, to take care of yourself better, and to go after your dreams little by little.

The thing is, it's about taking small actionable steps and, at the same time, loving yourself where you are in this moment. You don't need to be better; you don't need to be different. It's about loving yourself where you are in this moment.

Embrace who you are in this moment! Yeah, sure, you can learn new things, improve areas of your life, take courses, and keep practicing something, but that doesn't make you any less than who you are right now.

One of the things we talk about in our house is that practice makes better. It's also about progress, not perfection.

When we look at our life and just take it one bite-sized piece at a time, it becomes less overwhelming. Growth happens in those little moments, those moments where you're not paying attention.

Those moments when you get caught up and have so much fun going on adventures, talking to a friend, going for a walk in the forest, sitting on the beach and watching the sunset—those are the moments we hear our hearts sing, our soul speaks to us, and we listen to what we truly need.

There's a lot of information out there, and I personally have got lost in it myself.

The thing is, it's about looking inward.

What do you need this year?

How do you want to feel this year?

How do you want to show up?

For me, this year is all about mindset. Really weeding through the negativity that goes on in my mind. To focus on positive, loving thoughts and beliefs and grow stronger, and to me, that starts with looking at fewer news articles and news outlets and just really being mindful of what thoughts are swirling around in my head.

We don't have to get it perfect; we don't even have to get it right on our first few tries. In fact, what we think might be right isn't what's right for us.

It's figuring out what your personal values are.

Who are you?

What makes you tick?

What makes your heart sing?

What makes you feel so happy and joyful?

Start doing more of that, to get to know yourself better. You don't have to do a million things for this year to go right or the way you think it might need to go.

It's about you taking one step in the direction you would like to head. Pause, reflect, see if that's really where you truly want to end up, and either continue if it feels right or pivot because it doesn't.

One of the things I've learned on my journey is that we're all unique, we're all different, and what might work for one person doesn't work for another.

So as this new year unfolds and you may feel a little overwhelmed about where to begin, ask yourself how you want to feel this year? How could you achieve that feeling this year?

My wish for you this year is that you embrace who you truly are.

By embracing who you truly are, you can start creating the life that feels empowering and full of love and excitement.

When you create a deeper loving relationship with yourself, you can live an empowering life that you love.

It won't always be easy; however, when you're truly living as who you want to be and who you're meant to be, the obstacles don't feel as challenging because you know that this is who you truly are and how you're truly meant to live.

May you go out and live 2025 with love, excitement, and joy, feeling empowered and excited for these new possibilities waiting for you this year.

2025 is here, and it's ready for you to embrace who you are with love and excitement!

And if you're feeling overwhelmed and unsure where to really begin, I have created a beautiful community over on my website called the Be You! Community Room.

There, you can come and hang out with other like-minded women who are also on their own self-love personal discovery journey. You can find other people to chat with and share your challenges and struggles with and what you want to create this year.

One of the things I really felt was missing on my own journey was not being surrounded by more women who are going through the same or similar things, because we all have our own unique struggles, challenges, and personalities.

But with that, we can all bring something special to this community. I have created this as a way to connect with you and bring women together.

Oh, and it's free!

I'm not really on social media much; this is me creating a beautiful, safe place for people to show up as themselves, get to know other people on similar paths, and get support and love on their beautiful self-love journey.
