Tomorrow is my birthday...
A day I celebrate how far I've come, how much I've grown, changed and all the love lessons that have been given to me throughout the year.
For me it's not about becoming older...it's about becoming wiser, more loving, more understanding, and a true blessing being able to see another birthday.
Every birthday gives me a chance to reflect, celebrate, and give thanks.
And if I'm being completely honest I actually never think about what age I am...that is until my daughter was singing happy birthday to me a week early and when she got to singing "Are you one? Are you two?" And as she got into the 30's, I was like how old am I? Doing the math in my head I was able to let her know lol...it's 36 just in case you're curious.
This is how little I focus on my age...I don't hate my birthday or pretend I'm not a year older. It's just not what I focus on.
We can so easily get caught up in the number and what we think should be happening to our bodies, in our life...that we actually miss out on celebrating the most important thing. The day you were born...the day the world was given a gift!!
You are special...it's not about how old you are. It comes down to how you are showing up and living.
Today, this week, this month....heck, for the rest of this decade (we don't have much of it left!) I honour YOU, send you love....and as I'm writing this, a song literally popped into my head by Rascal Flatts called "My wish"....I think this says it best:
"I hope the days come easy and the moments pass slow, And each road leads you where you wanna go, And if you're faced with a choice, and you have to choose, I hope you choose the one that means the most to you. And if one door opens to another door closed, I hope you keep on walkin' till you find the window, If it's cold outside, show the world the warmth of your smile."
